1. Who we are

Skolvi is a directory of nurseries and schools in Portugal, operated under the registered trademark Skolvi. While the legal entity is being incorporated, the trademark owner acts as the data controller.

2. What data we collect — and where it lives

Data that stays on your device

Your saved school list, personal notes and visit dates are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data is never sent to our servers and we have no access to it.

Data you voluntarily share

• Email address— only if you click “Send list by email”. Used solely to send your shortlist PDF. Not stored for future contact or shared with third parties.
• Contact form — name, email and message, used only to respond to your enquiry.

Navigation data

We collect aggregated, anonymised navigation data (pages visited, device type, country) to improve the service. We do not persistently collect individual IP addresses.

3. Legal basis

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for optional analytics and sending your list by email.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for aggregated navigation data used to improve the service.
• Pre-contractual / contractual — for responding to contact requests.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell data. We use the following technical subprocessors:

• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure (US, with GDPR-compliant standard contractual clauses).
• Anonymous analytics — aggregated data with no personal identification, only with your consent.

All subprocessors are bound by contractual confidentiality obligations compatible with the GDPR.

5. Retention

• localStorage data — remains on your device until you manually clear it or clear your browser data.
• Email for list delivery — deleted after the PDF is sent.
• Contact enquiries — kept for as long as needed to respond and up to 12 months after the matter is closed.
• Aggregated navigation data — retained for 24 months.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Portugal: CNPD.

7. Cookies

We use two types of cookies:

• Essential — required for the service to function (e.g. language preference). No consent required.
• Analytics — only with your explicit consent, given via the banner shown on your first visit.

You can manage or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect service improvements or legal requirements. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the updated date.
